Itoigawa Shimpaku Redemption

Was the cut paste actually necessary in the split that occurred? I ask because it’s my understanding that cut paste/putty is to aid in callous growth and eventual healing over of a wound. This appears to be almost completely within the deadwood and may become difficult to remove later. Any bit of live vein exposed would heal without much issue and if the deadwood is for visual aesthetic I wouldn’t want a big gob of stuff in an otherwise interesting crack. Sealing the wood shouldn’t be an issue if you treat with lime sulfur or other wood stabilizer. Take this with a grain of salt as I’m only seeing so much through the photos.
And then oncenn no I know it healed then the putty in
Be cleaned as the deadwood is still needing to be ribboned and expanded .. I first have to make sure the veins can separate safely .. would have explained more earlier but I was at a zoo

I don't know how to take the response to my suggestion. If I've offended you, know that wasn't my intent. I guess I should've been more precise by saying that portions above what were already bent could be compressed as well. I wouldn't bend the section where the crack developed any further. You seem to agree with that based on your first response to me. But in the second you seem to disagree.

No no I don’t take offense the normal discourse is lost due to internet.. I don’t think I need to compress the apex more but as it grows I may compress foliage more .. but I don’t I think it needs it .. it still has good future. I really don’t know how I could compress the top section more without changing all the foliage I selected to keep
