It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎶 🎵

Don’t you just love repotting szn.
“ Scary Bonsai stories and
Tales of the glories of Bonsai from long , long agoooooo”
The pandemic was the best thing that ever happened to repotting season.

Pre-pandemic, I would stress out on weekends doing a tree here and there when I could sneak away from parenting duties.

But now that I work from home all the time, I just do one every morning while the kids are at school. Stress free!!

Ahh that sounds glorious .. I worked from home the other day .. during lunch I took the pup out and repotted a tree just in time for a WebEx meeting lol .

Haven’t repotted one tree except a couple at the museum, maybe tomorrow! Everything’s ready to roll, just need a really good cup of strong coffee and a waxing crescent moon…. then the assembly line is gonna roll hard and fast!

….. not slacking as I have wired 20 trees in the past nine days though, big, medium and small. Big took much longer!

Heard that I’ve been wiring trees at the studio for past months

I have repotted a couple quince that were budding out early. I’m now doing the shuffle with them.

Weather for the foreseeable future looks great so I will probably be ramping up my repotting the next couple weeks!

A great time of year indeed :)

 we are shivering here also hehehe
85 here in FL today but, dropping about 45 degrees in the next 24hrs. I'll be shivering if it really reaches the 38* forecasted. I'll be bringing in the trees I have w/me. We've had some 70s at home already but, snow forecasted tonight. Heading home the first day of spring and will be WAY behind the 8 ball I figure. Gonna Facetime the neighbor to get a close look at the trees again today.

Haha yeah I went into work 15 min later than I usually do just cause I had to take everything out back to sit in sun.

Last night was below 30. Tonight should be just above freezing, then low 40s and up to 50 by Wed

I think I’ll be ok for a repot or two after tonight

Can’t edit, so double post

Will tear down/ clean up cold frame area tomorrow hopefully. This will also allow laying down shade cloth and putting rock down finally

I’ve been trimming boxwoods. I got 2 more left. Also have two sages to trim up

Waiting on 4mm wire for oaks. That should be fun. I need to prob find a way to separate them since they’re technically suckers

I should hop on wiring mesquite seedlings

I’m wiring mesquite seedlings as well. Decided to tinker around with the hackberry varieties this time around.
