Reading your message I wasn't sure if the trees in the pictures were from inverted root cuttings or not.

I’m jumping in this old thread.
Did anyone else try this technique and can show some additional progress ?

I was thinking of giving it a go, this spring, with some saplings, mainly fieldmaple apple, english elm, hornbeam and japanese quince.
