Inventory Reduction Sale & Penny Start Auctions

I like larch but the Jap larch isn't great for my agree so.

Are these good for my area ?

I really like this larch :)
typically, these are very tough trees and can withstand extreme weather conditions with some minor protection. They grow freely in the north and into the upper peninsula of Michigan. I don't know why it wouldn't do well in Joppa, Maryland.

Stolen for $81.
Like I said above. There is no interest. Craptastic.
Damn me and already spending my all of birthday money:mad:, I would've bid 120 in a heart beat just to secure it as mine.
Oh well, next time. I NEED a @Don Blackmond tree in my garden already! Lol at least I get to look at the ones @abqjoe has :)

$120 would have been a steal too. I figured it would go cheap since eBay is a morgue, but it still sold for half what I expected a cheap sale to be. And I still have to spend quality time to pack and ship it.... @johng

Oh I know that tree is worth a good bit! The only way I can normally afford a really high quality tree is by winning an auction, believe me, there's trees on your site I dream of having but know it'll be a long time until I could ever afford them (I'm a broke nursery worker lol)

@Don Blackmond have you checked out selling on the facebook auctions sites? You could avoid ebay fees and i think it reaches a good bonsai audience.

Now might be a bad time to try and sell stuff. Winter is coming and everyone's tree fund is gone for the year.

Nope. I don't have a facebook account. Its probably time to look into it though. I don't know the first thing about facebook. Piling and burning sounds much easier and more pleasant.

Facebook can be as pleasant or obnoxious as you want. If you just create an account and sell trees on the facebook groups, it should be pretty simple...and I think you'll be reaching a broader, more discerning bonsai audience. Trees and pots seem to sell pretty well there. Check it out!

As a seller you should definitely consider looking into it. It's not much different than creating an ebay account, User ID, password etc.. you can post a few trees a week, set reserves on your auction etc. You would be able to use it solely for the purpose of selling your trees only.

You already know how to ship and you avoid ebay taking a cut of your profit. The two pages that see the most action are "99 Cent Bonsai" and "Bonsai Auctions". I think they are run really well. I've bought and sold without issue.

I think like Paradox said it's probably not the best time of the year for tree sales. If it were spring I think you'd have had much more interest, even so I noticed you do get quite a few bids so you've got people's attention. Just not enough to cause the price to go up a lot. If I had more funds to put towards trees I may have been interested but again it's probably not the best time of year for many people.

As always, I wish I could order from north of the border! Free trade, and govts never seem to help a simple tree addict.
