Identification help

Hi guys

I know this may be a long shot, but could anyone possibly identify what the below tree / or shrub is?

I saw it at a nursery and thought it may be a good candidate for a trunkchop with a low bonsai with a thick trunk - the woman at the nursery said its a durantium, but I may have heard wrong because when I googled that I found nothing.

Thanks a bunch I was excited that it was a pomegranate at one stage, alas my lack of knowledge yet... looks like it won't be the best specimen for bonsai...

I did a google search on 'duranta erecta bonsai' and came up with a few hits. Some were very well done. If you can lift it, why not give it a go?
