How long should I leave this olive wired?

Where these can be ordered? Wishing you luck.
Lol oh no, I went through a few fun girls this year but this one is a good one;) and as far as the job goes, not as fun as the nursery but WAY better pay and it's an actual skill trade.
I'm gonna stop hijacking this thread, I feel rude lol

So grab like idiot and hang pot from tree:confused::rolleyes:!
Lol!!! I’m not saying I “do” grab the tree by the trunk and lift it, I’m saying I “could”. (If the tree has smooth bark, no problem, I never touch flaky barked trunks).

Depends on how you repot.

When we repot there is a rectangular shape and it may shake a little,
but that is what trees do in nature.
Stimulates root growth.

And that is shake in HIGH winds.

If you bare root every time you repot, than yes follow Sifu's [ Adair's ]
advice.
Good Day

Anthony, from what you say about your local trees, and how fast they grow, the roots may fill a pot faster. Trees with slower growth and less vigorous roots need help. Also, tall trees that are top heavy need to be wired in.

Roots are the tree’s foundation. They put out strong heavy roots to secure their position. For bonsai, we don’t want long heavy roots. We want lots of small feeder roots! So, since we are taking away the “foundation” roots, we have to substitute for them. Aluminum wire is perfect for the job!

You guys should take a look this giant juniper to which I just transplanted with heavy root cut 7 days ago. I only used twine to keep the tree in the pot. We just got a gusty wind 2 days ago and the tree is still standing firm! I did not use aluminum wire for few years.

Keep in mind that the part of the root that feeds the tree is one cell in diameter, and is very delicate.

What you want is a tree that doesn't move at all, if that wire does the job, then great!

You can usually tell when the wire is biting in once you see that the tree is thickening around it.
