A Bird's Nest Spruce (Picea abies 'Nidiformis') and a Juniper (Juniperus horizontalis 'Andorra compacta'). Check out that winter color on the Juni! ...and excuse the messy garage, my kids throw stuff everywhere.

After trying to clean these up a little bit, its less than ideal, suboptimal, I might say. However, I am happy with what I found inside, they will be full of styling challenges in the future.

The Spruce's soil is frozen and pushed up on the tree. The Juniper is also frozen, but its not expanded and pushed up out of the pot like the Spruce. I will have to wait till spring to get in there and expose whatever trunk/nebari may be hiding on these.

Sorry for the terrible pictures, I have a cheap phone and bad lighting.

I reduced them both significantly, but I think its a decent first step.

Nice. Yeah the ‘winter blush ‘ is crazy on these Andorra junipers. I have 2 currently, and are completely that light purple color.
