I have these trees growing all over around where I live. Especially in developments that have empty lots. Anyone know what this may be or if this type of tree has potential?

I hope to hear good news because I have permission to dig up as many as I want.
Thanks in advance!

No idea but I noticed it has long internodes (and very straight growth). Not very ideal for bonsai unless it reduce drastically. Good luck!

Really shooting in the dark here...these do look like young versions of two trees we have in abundance around here - box elder and ash (not sure if we have green or black). Are there any old leaves laying around? Can you post a close-up photo of some of the leaf buds?

No leaves. They have all blown away or mixed in with other leaves. Wouldn't even know which ones were which lol.

I can get a few more pictures tomorrow.
I can say they grow fast. The tree pictured might be 4 years old. The trunk is thicker that a soda can and the hight of the tree is about 12-15 feet.

I have about a dozen of these growing behind my work, I choped the trunk on a few and i am waiting on the leaves to come out this spring to see what they are.
