The tips of my Mugo pine are yellow should I be concerned? I been feeding it with 0-10-10 since late August. other then that the tree loooks fine

I don't really have anything to offer but pictures usually help you get better advice.

I do wonder why you are using 0-10-10 fertilizer? I have been using 10-10-10 at double strength with good results.

I wonder too, Nitrogen is what spurts growths and makes the deep green color in your tree. Mughos can be losing some old needles or it could be lack of nitrogen or maybe a fungal issue. PM Vance Wood as he is hands down the most experienced here with this specie of pine. I always heavily over-fertilize my Bonsai what they do not use washes out the soil anyhow but when they need it, its plentiful for them to access.

Pics would help. Lots of pines have yellow needle tips this time of year, and it's usually pretty normal, but there could be something else going on. As others have noted, reducing the nitrogen at the end of the growing season isn't necessary, though I doubt your problem is related to lack of nitrogen. Fwiw, I feed 20-20-20 miracle gro with fish emulsion right through the growing season until we get our first frost.

I was wrong I ment t say 10-10-10 because that is what I thought you should be using this time if the year I will post pictures tomorrow

Steve,

Can you post pics? Cant really give you advice without seeing the tree.

I think this is probably a normal ocurance. The onset of cold weather makes a lot of conifers do strange and colorful things.
