Help styling zelkova

I am very aware of several major flaws in the tree.

It is a great tree - I am only trying to develop my critical eye. And that sort of "critical" is not the same as the other one, which it was not my intention to be. I hope that my suggestions might be helpful, and I am glad to have the luxury not have to worry that people will run and start hacking up their tree when I speak! By the time I reach that stature on here, let's hope that my advice has gotten better. ;)

but it seems you dont understand the basics
i think the OP needs to put some research work in and begin thinking for himself tbh
this is because over the years ive took time out to research what others have done.
I've had the time to reflect on these comments and would like to respond.

This will be my third year developing my skills to try and create something that could be considered bonsai. I do not take this hobby as a joke and have invested countless hours in researching what others have done. This includes the work of Bjorn, Ryan, Graham, Sergio, Peter, Margolis, Peter Adams and many others. I have an extensive library and countless videos.

I was exposed to the fine arts by my father, who achieved a Master in Fine Arts from Yale university and studied under Joseph Albers of Staatliches Bauhaus fame. He was proficient in painting, sculpting, pottery and other media. I followed the arts with his guidance. I then attended university studying architecture.

So, please, before you make judgement, know the individual you speak to!

I value your guidance very much and an in awe of your works. I understand the hours of study and practice to achieve what you have done. I will continue to value your opinion, but please, without the snarky comments!

you posted the same tree twice with the exact same pics and requested styling advice on more than one occasion, when you didnt get a response on the first thread you started another stating you got a bit 'impatient'. when styling advice was given you didnt thank or aknowledge everyones contribution. then you retorted that you were now waiting to see how it grows. so what was the point then in titleing the thread 'help with styling'.

sorry if i came off a little snarky, not my intention.

when styling advice was given you didnt thank or aknowledge everyones contribution
If you look back, I did acknowledge much of the advice with a "Like". Sorry if I snubbed you by not responding to every response.
Sorry for asking for advice twice. It won't happen again!

guess i use the forum differently. if i start a thread needing help and i get the help in the form of images, virtuals, diagrams i think its good forum etiquette to respond to each reply by a like or a reply, if only to aknowledge and respect the time out someone put in to respond to my request. even if i dont like the idea i will say why i dont agree with it.

good luck with your tree mate.
