Personally also repot later for this reason as well as excess rainy weather and must repot outdoors. However so many "experts" this site recommend late Winter it perhaps works for them?

Most of the late winter/early spring is for maples and pines which is when their buds start moving.

In the case of maples, protection after repotting is advised if there is a late freeze.

It is generally accepted that juniper are a little later because their growth starts later

This was purchased last month from an individual via facebook auctions. So no work has been done other than receiving, watering, fertilizing, and removing old dead growth. Thank you for your feedback and suggestions!
