Haws watering can

Have you tried turning the nozzle around? If you flip the nozzle so its pointing down you can get closer to the pot and have more control over where the water goes, while still having a soft flow. It helps a little.
That was a good tip!

I use the same one, in Blue. I'm thinking about epoxying some sort of mesh where the neck meets the can portion to further prevent clogging at the head.
the japanese have a mesh at the main filling opening, preventing rubble entering the can. wirth considering

In all honesty, I think I learned that it'd already been done somewhere along the way.

Just FWIW, seems like the Haws Conservatory cans are available on acbonsai.com back in Canada.

Considering these cans are discontinued, it might be worth a purchase while you can still get them!

I just ordered the same one that @Ruddigger has and I love it!

I use both a hose and a watering can in my garden. Usually in the morning I’ll use the hose and spray everything down really well.

Then usually in the afternoon I will spot water with the watering can. My ponderosas, etc sometimes don’t need a second watering while smaller trees will, so I’ll just use the can rather than unraveling the whole hose setup.

Also this is great if you want to water in the evening and only get the soil wet and not the foliage.
