What ever happened with this @milehigh_7 did you like the way it worked? I’m Thinking of something similar for this year

It worked very well. Pretty much everything I grew this way thrived. I even had Sargent crabapples that did not skip a beat in 120F.

Very cool, did you have to drill many holes in the 5 gallon for the air pruning?

Nope, I just cut two or three 1 inch squares. You want a certain amount of humidity maintained. So it's a balance that will depend on the humidity of your location. Vegas is below 10% all Summer.
You also need to maintain the structural integrity of the 5-gal can. It has to hold up the plant.

I missed this thread the first time around, but after seeing this, I was immediately thinking how easy to would be to make shelf racks (shelves with square holes in them) that would allow you to insert/hang numerous pond baskets.
