Got $6 grand? Tommy Lee workshop

Huh?
Seriously? You do a workshop with a guy who does not know bonsai?
I presume Pam Anderson = keep her running Pamela Anderson?

Still.. Bit of an odd thing. But well. It keeps someone with lots of money off the street I suppose. Guess I have never been much into "knowing a star". Never understood the fan-fame type of attitudes.

Why?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe I really just do not care.
Dude. He's not leading the thing. He's just there. He's not being touted as an expert. And yeah, the draw is doing a planting with a celebrity and a particularly notorious one at that, one that people don't really connect with bonsai. Not all that odd, particularly in California or L.A. It's a fundraiser. The proceeds go to a charity that funds bonsai scholarships. More power to the Cali. Bonsai Society for using local resources (Hollywood Celebs) to raise charity funds for a good cause.

Hanging out with famous people can be cool. Tommy Lee is still a novice at bonsai, but I like hanging out with interesting people of all experience levels when I'm working on my trees, and I'm sure he has a couple of good stories to tell. Plus, it would make for a great episode on my YouTube channel. Maybe I'd finally get over that 1,000 subscriber mark. That said, at $5,250, which is where the bidding is at the moment, I'd be better off investing in a better automatic watering system and maybe a kiln and a slab roller.

because you can get double for your trees being an influencer, right?

Nuttiest has broken self-exile in less than 24 hours and he did it all to deliver this heat... hats off to you, bonsai vigilante ❤️
Well I am over the anger part, but that was a big chunk of my time in 'stand and stare' mode. I will get him back next time. he went to BED without apologizing!

I’ve met/spoke to Bob Pressler a handful of times and he does ALOT to promote the art form. He lived through the era of Bonsai OG in California and always tries to help in any way he can. The auction is a creative way to generate traction for funds(for the scholarship) as well as more awareness about the art. I hope he gets an absurdly high price for the event!

Americans expect you to know all the American things ..

But look at me crazy when I EXPECT them to know my favorite reggaeton artists.

There was many hair bands... Lots from the UK... Not surprising at all that you've not heard of Motley Crue...

If we're being honest.... You are not missing much... Most hair bands... Kind of have similar feels. (There ARE exceptions, but in my opinion, Motley Crue is not one of them)

That being said, I think it's awesome when ANYONE "does" Bonsai... Go Tommy!

Good cause as well..

🤓

Plus Bjorn said Tommy is a pretty good guy aside from the fame. I don't have anything close to the disposable income to bid on something like this but I'd definitely say for the sake of charity to drop 6k just so I could talk to him about Ozzy snorting ants off of a popsicle stick as we repotted a pine tree. Those kind of stories don't just fall in ones lap.

@HorseloverFat well? Who is your favorite reggaeton artist? Maybe I've heard of em 😜

That's tough, and constantly changing...

Right now I'm obsessed with "Machete en Boca" as well as some of the solo artists that emerged from this, like "Jazzwoman"...

Also right now I'm into La Joaqui, LittleSmoking and lennis Rodriguez for the more "pop" end...

AAAAND for the more hip-hop/reggAE end, Chusterfield (if you take ONE away... Make it this one), Rastachai, LennyFace (Noite), Chata Flores, McKea, High Paw and Pure Negga.

But it's hard to choose.

:)

I feel you. Im keen because growing up, I couldn’t escape it. But really, who cares? I’m happy for Tommy that he is interested in bonsai. Don’t much care to rub elbows.
