Here's a completely hand* built traditional little gem on a dark red body. The Sea Foam is a glaze one of my students made and it came out spectacular on the red body. Dimensions are about 8" [20cm] as shown. As I witness the wonder of the geese coming and going from the lake each day it amazes me in their controlled flight, especially while landing so gently on the lake! As such:

"From far away a gaggle of geese
alight on the lake.
At morn, a cacophony in flight."

Start at $55.00 + $10 shipping. Ends Midnight March 31 Sunday. Ship Monday AM

PS the first photograph (on my screen) is closer to the color as it is a warm green.
* hours to build: about 3

Since you posted this one, I've been going up and looking at the other one I have from you every now and then...wondering if it wants a friend...

Package received safely! This also inspired me to finally organize my pots a bit. Pictured on top of it’s big brother (and with another Vance pot on the bottom of the right stack)

Will, so glad all’s well!
I made a super purchase in 1976 or so to Luther Young down in PA who at the time had a collection of Tokename pots. I bought hudge size pots all over 24” some as large as 30” of which to house my larger pines and others.
I’ve learned that when you see a pot you really just love, it probably won’t be there next week.
I recall photos in the Naka book of his massive collection of pots one of which hopefully should still have my chop on it!

I must say, the pots are one of the most appealing aspects of bonsai to me. No doubt, part of why I find myself drawn to both shohin and deciduous trees, as I think both allow for more variety of pots. I’m very appreciative of both the great number of excellent domestic pot makers, like yourself, and the ease of access to pots of Asian make that we now enjoy today.

I do have a great number of pots that are wanting trees, but I feel similar to you that it’s best to collect as they come to you. Hell, I’ve even bought a tree just for it’s pot! I do try to make my pots available to study group members if I don’t have need for them myself, but I haven’t yet had my “everything’s for sale” attitude challenged yet on any of my personal favorites.
