Omono
Of the Montlake cut, is a new book in print featuring the work of two ladies from the seattle area. It's focus is on a wildlife area near the University of Washington.
The book is filled with short poems and sumi-e artwork.
I purchased it because I knew the Sumi-e artist, Hiroko Seki. She does my shikishi board artwork for my scrolls I use in Tokonoma display. I find i pick the book up often to enjoy the thoughts of author Constance Sidles.
While it could be a book considered only to be of interest locally because of the title, I think the work of these two is more universal.
It's hardcover, published by Constancy Press,LLC and retails for about $35.00
I bring it up because, I think there are many who appreciate artistry (both by brush and pen) that would enjoy this book and because of it's local flavor not even knew it existed.
