Would it be better to use a wider, shallower pot or a deeper but slightly smaller pot for repot?
I am certain it is rootbound as this was the pot I have had it in for a year and a chopstick won't even start into the soil.
I was a bit leery of this mica pot as I am familiar with the profusion of roots this tree produces.
My quandary is whether a larger surface pot would tend to get less rootbound as the roots could run horizontal.
The pot I am considering is not what anyone would call "shallow" as some depth is needed for this climate.
I am pretty certain that it can't go back in the pictured pot.
God only knows what a solid mass the roots might have produced in this one year.
