I used to work next to a grow warehouse and I think the whole neighborhood could smell it, but it's definitely an acquired smell, you either like it or not, but I like it.It stunk up the entire house.

Grows like a weed. The market is so saturated most everyone I know finds it cheaper to buy it than grow it anymore.I have to confess, as one who's not imbibed in 25+ years (and never grown it), my initial thought was "Why is he posting a picture of a moldy morel on a flower thread?"
It's an aquired smell like @Deano said. Also Deanos cat looks like your cats...what's up with that?My son had to move back for a couple of weeks when his basement apartment flooded. He brought his giant hydroponically grown "flower" plant. It stunk up the entire house.
Try Zyrtec. It helps me when I inhale too much pollen...I'm not sure what made me post that, it must have been all the "flowers".
I'm so glad you go through the trouble of identifying these. We have most of the same species around here, but I'm always too busy enjoying them to research them. LoLGolden Crownbeard, Verbesina encelioides

Apricot Globemallow, Sphaeralcea ambigua, the only flower I found that wasn't purple or yellow.

I have plenty of extra time at work some days, so I hike around. In the second pic, you can see how alkaline and salty the desert soil is in many places.I'm so glad you go through the trouble of identifying these. My grandma had tons of them in her flower garden.Moss Rose (Portulaca grandiflora)
