When I got mine the older gentleman didn't know the name, and the only name I could find was Rosebud. I've always thought that sounded generic, like it was a description, not a name. They sure are pretty thought.

This is my new seedling with the best foliage so far, cross: 'Alexander' x 'Hekisui'. In Japan for some reason they never crossed R.nakaharae, a creeping hardy late flowering azalea from the mountains of Taiwan, with satsuki. This one is about to boom and I really hope the flower shape and blotch s nice. Could be something I may register or use in future crosses.

Thanks and agreed the hybrid is a gorgeous flower. As explained to me the bloom is a representation of the variety’s namesake:

This is my oldest azalea, has a light lavender bloom. Overall size is 25 inches high, 63 cm.
