Fertilizer basket alternative

Hello guys, I’ve been looking for alternatives to the plastic fertilize baskets and I found these stainless steel mesh baskets on Amazon fairly cheap. Tell me what you think.

What problem does this serve that the plastic fertilizer baskets don't handle well?

They do look more gangster. But you need a stainless steel chain as well, rather than that cord, to match the aesthetic.

I wonder if that will intimidate blackbirds in Europe and squirrels in NA to keep away.

Thank you. I like the way they look as well. The cord is actually a bungee that I just used to hold the pot down to the monkey. I’m just nervous about Highwinds knocking the trees over.
