Guys, If I could source locally pumice and lava rock but no akadama what would you add to replace akadama with?

Guys, If I could source locally pumice and lava rock but no akadama what would you add to replace akadama with?

With pumice and lava rock, maybe throw in some bark for water retention.
Akadama here has been sucking for the past three years, and I've found I can go perfectly without the stuff.

I've been using mostly perlite with organics while I'm collecting trees, but next repots I would like to change for more granular soil type. Also I live on an island and found out that I can just go to some places, grab a bag of pumice and lava rock all left is pass it in the sceens
