Dawn Redwood Project

I've been growing this Dawn Redwood from a seedling for a few years. Last year I repotted it and placed it over a rock. It has gotten to the point where I can finally put a bend in it. This past weekend the deed was done. I have repotted it in a mica pot and wired it up. It stands about 15 inches from soil to the bend. We'll see how it goes.

Very nice. I'm assuming that your tree grows like a weed...mine did. Do you plan on keeping the tree this size?

Yes, like a weed it grows. No, It can get as big as wants to for now. However, as you know, to keep it in its current form I will need to prune it often which will greatly impact any significant increase in size. Thanks for the interest.

Nice start @Vin ! I love the dawn redwoods, I planted one in front of my house. It takes the blistering cold of Québec easily now. Beautiful trunks as they get older. I am hoping to layer some branches this spring.
