Crape Myrtle new root over rock planting from a small cutting

Today I started a root over rock planting from a small cutting from my Crape Myrtle. All of the cuttings took root in 10 days or so and sprouted tons of aerial roots, which gave me the idea for the small style. So I plucked this one, teased the roots, wrapped them down a rock I found in my new back yard, and potted it up. I should see roots through the translucent milk jug and know when it's taken.

Nice work, but I just can't associate crapes on rocks. Maybe on bigger rock, but in nature I envision a rock bigger than leaves.

@Mike Corazzi no sir I can’t say that I’ve seen any crapes on rocks here in Florida myself either. If I can get the technique down pat, I’ll certainly move on to other species.

Update on this one. Pulled the roots off of the rock as it wasn’t quite looking good. I like how it’s progressing much better now. Like this one better than the mother plant.
