Corny jigs

In 1976, in Dundee, the lady that checked our tickets, the "conductor", was a Chilean doctor.
Like many political refugees, she could hardly make a living.
The CIA helped the fascists make a coup. The catholic church, and all the cults like the "evangelists" were accomplices.
Maggie Thatcher was one of the few who paid tribute to Pinochet, this criminal.
Now, there's a new president that was elected for social justice. More Liberty, Equality, and above all Fraternity.

Vive la Liberté ! 🇫🇷

Indifférence, a famous standard of French "musette", one of my favourite tunes.
A girl's version :

Very, very corny "musette". I love the way they sounded the "r's" in the 40s, very few people spek like that now, but maybe some in the south-west. The "Java" was a popular dance, it evolved with gipsy jazz musicians like Django Reinhardt.

Bireli Lagrene is probably one of the best guitarists of the century, "Si tu savais" is a "musette" standard that he put to the level of masterpiece :

Roots, rock, musette :D

Most of them could hardly read or write, or read music sheets, but they made people waltz, around, and round, and round... :)

Rap ? Hah hah, THAT's corny... Boom boom.

(I wonder what "it" means to those 4-time beat guys using base words and poor music...)

Great "modern" bluegrass, thanks for sharing.

But this 1959 tune is even "cornier" - and I just love it ! (the kind of tunes I used to play, more or less, before the days of arthitis...)

That’s rather impressive. For me most of it sounds like total gibberish aside from the title line but the rhythm keeps you listening and he seems to be having a good time.
I’ve heard that central through east Europe sometimes had troubles understanding Caribbean “English”.. super interesting.. 🤣

That guy is a refugee.. He lives in South America somewhere..

This is my favorite one, actually.

I still can’t get most of what he says but I know I like him😂😂. There is something oddly calming about listening to him.
