For a few years I have been obsessed with collecting a native (western) dogwood on its own roots, but have failed every year at ground layering. I get them to root but not to move! this year I collected lots of seed to hedge my bet and they germinated! will post pics when I find out what format this site likes ( 90% of my pic collection seem too big...) also, now they look like your average weed at this point and there is no need to curse them yet!.....
I know this is no problem for you northwesterners but I am in sunset zone 7 and thats on the cusp for cornus nuttalii so I am stoked!
anyone get these guys to a decent bonsai stage or shall I just stick them in the yard(in ten years)? this guy and its family live right up the road but as microclimates go we are worlds apart:![Cornus Nutalii - Copy - Copy.jpg Cornus Nutalii - Copy - Copy.jpg](https://www.bonsainut.com/data/attachments/18/18910-3621a9c90a854ab00d7b2c210753f6c8.jpg?hash=NiGpyQqFSr)
