I have an awesome opportunity to collect whatever I want according to the land owners...this doesn’t mean I will just try and pull everything out of the ground. I want to do it right and give the trees the best chance of survival possible so I’m looking for advice and possible hands on help to collect this spring. It’s near Abilene, Texas. I’m mostly after junipers but there is also a few oak trees I have my eyes on.

If these are the same from the other thread...these are better photos!

None look easy to collect.

I'd start with the worst one.

Worry more about recent rains and the moon than spring.

Watch out for rattlesnakes.

I remember reading something about the moon in passing but didn’t pay attention to it. Could you link me to a post that discusses the moon phase and collecting. You really put stock in it? Does it really outweighs seasonal collecting? would it be better to collect during spring while the moon is also in the correct phase? Very interesting stuff!

My order of importance goes Moon, Rain, Season.
Moon has to be right. Few days before full.
Rain is great.
Season... arguable.
