Hey all,

Thought I'd give this tree it's own thread and keep my "collection" thread for more random projects.

I've had this 2 years now. It grows like a weed and every cutting I take will root if I want it.

I gave it a good thinning last summer, but I think it needs another next year. My main focus will be on keeping it compact. Does anyone have any tips on anything I should be looking out for?

I really love this little guy, looking forward to seeing its bark developing more over time.

There are many situations where lack of a proper pot can misguide irreversible design choices.

I figure if you got it small already, may as well let it flex out it's base in a wide and shallow joint.

They are speaking of Technical Vs. Artistic in that thread, artistic capabilities and if they can be nurtured.

I think some folks could benefit a lot in that regard, by having this important pot piece of the puzzle in direct visual place, to better create the rest of the puzzle.

I really like this trees potential.

I have yet to try and design a pot, with a SPECIFIC tree in mind.... I’ll bet that is a unique creative journey.

Absolutely! I agree with everything you all have said.

Honestly, this is the only one of my trees that I think deserves a decent pot.
It was recently potted in this when I bought it. Which will be 3 years next spring. So I could aim to repot then. That gives me plenty of time.

I have so many ideas!

That tree is outstanding! Love it! I agree with others that a different pot could complement it nicely. I like what @sorce said, and I think it comes from a place of concern. Such a beautiful tree, so don't let just any old pot lead you in the wrong direction (or, just as bad... a mundane direction). Very nice!

Haha, no worries!
I'm currently thinking about what kind of pot to make for it.
Leaning towards a textured oval to compliment the bark.

Ended up potting this little guy into this oval of mine last year. I like it. Definitely one of my favourite trees in my collection.
