CHOJUBAI

Nice one, Sergio!

I'd love to get a red chojubai but I'm just not willing to pay the prices I see for most of them. If anyone has a rooted cutting they'd be willing to part with for a reasonable cost, let me know! I'm willing to take the time and work on developing it.
What's a reasonable cost for a rooted cutting taken in Spring of 2015? How about Spring of 2014? I have pots of 2, 3, 4 and 5. I don't think I have singles left.

Good question. Brent W lists white chojubai cuttings at $10. He doesn't have any reds but I think they were listed for $14? Not sure. So for a single, rooted, undeveloped cutting...somewhere between $10-20 in my opinion.

I 'think' Brent was charging 14-16 with a minimum shipping fee of $12.00 per order. Fwiw I've purchased from Don on more than one occassion and I'm still very pleased with the purchases.

I do love the usual clumps they almost always come in, but I think that was one reason I picked this tree.

Sharp one! I rarely see a decent single trunk. I "think" @Brian Van Fleet has one Quince ground grown for 10 or so years... Nice find!

I bought a white one from Julian Adams that I think is a year old at most if nit this year's cutting for @$12-$15. The trunk is maybe the size of 2mm wire at most.

Don has some great ones of these on his website. And probably more lurking in the wings.

where’s his site? the one i found via google seems to just be a landing page

i’m trying to expand where i can search for materials!

hah, yeah, I figured it was still worth a shot asking since I figured he was still selling trees in general ;)

I have not seen him post any trees either here, on his website or on EBAY where he used to sell a lot.
I think there have been other things keeping him busy the last year or so.
Such is life.

I'm aiming to look at pre-bonsai and bonsai, right now I have a particular hankering for deciduous trees...
I have some seedling sized chojubai I may release depending how they look when they leaf out this spring.......if you're interested.

to be honest i don’t know enough about that specific species, i’m just trying to get a feel as to where to locate material outside of nurseries here. we have plenty of them but with COVID i’m left window shopping online ;)
