Picked up this tree 3 or so months ago. It's a Chinese Juniper (Sargentii). It had been left to grow out for the last couple of years. Lots of runners but also a lot of foliage on the inside of the tree that was struggling and had lost it's shape.

Took it to a workshop today where we cleaned up the foliage and put the basic structure of the tree in place. The focus was on shifting the foliage mass to the right - the trunk moves in that direction but foliage was mostly going the other way. also removed a main branch up top to create some space for the apex. It will be left to grow and strengthen over the next few months and will likely then detail wire it later on in the year.

Next spring it will be repotted and the angle changed so that the apex is slightly further right. Hard to portray in an image but looked a lot better at an angle in person. Longer term the plan is for the main branch on the left to be grown out - again to shift some of the foliage further left. Would also likely to chase some of the foliage back on the two branches on the right. They've been wired and had plenty of movement put in them to bring them in tighter to the trunk but scope to bring them further in in the future. (Very average) virtual below with the whole tree tilted, main branch on

Thoughts welcome!
