Can anyone help me Identify this Bonsai Tree?

So I got this tree from a Bonsai Practitioner that retired and passing along some nice tree.
He told me he doesnt know the name of the tree but it been in his collection close to 20 years

heres a few picture of the foliate, my first impression is a european beech.

Given your location, it is likely Celtis occidentalis. However, I know that Celtis sinensis is sold by lots of landscape nurseries in Cali. They make excellent bonsai BTW. Look up the ones that are done in Taiwan.

The guy where I bought it said he got it from a bonsai Nursery and its been close to 20 years he doesnt know what tree is it. The closer i look at the leaves it does look like a Hackberry.
