I recently purchased a brazilian rain tree here in s.e. Florida. I've heard to keep the soil moist and not fully dry out. It is still in its nursery pot at the moment. Should I mist the foliage regularly? I also heard liquid fertilizer was good. I still want to let the trunk thicken, should I repot to a larger pot and prune now? Sorry about the late pic with the leaves closed....17335269891804097284336620587360.jpg

Welcome! Imo no misting needed, fertilize with whatever you have often when it's growing. I might wait a couple of months to repot, no need to trim anything yet until you have a firm direction on your trunk line. Good luck

I know you live in Florida but I would still wait to repot and or severely prune until at least spring time in your area. BRT's are one of the few trees that the trunk will actually thicken in a pot. I don't think you need a bigger pot at all and no need misting. Regular Miracle Gro is fine for them.

If you have it outside, which you should, watch temperatures in your ares. Bring it inside if it will be below 50F. They are tropical and don't like cold
