Ok so this is my second attempt at styling a Boxwood from nursery stock. I picked up 2 in spring earlier this year. The first one went so terribly that I decided to leave the 2nd one to grow until a later date.…. I essentially ended up with a little 5 inch twig with a few branches. I pruned the roots on it extremely hard, probably an 85% reduction lol. Since then I’ve had more practice pruning, wiring, working on roots and I have consumed more information from various sources.
So here is the 2nd one. I removed far less foliage, branches, and roots. I think it turned out much better and I think it could have some good potential over time. Let me know what I could improve. The first picture is the 1st boxwood I massacred but is still alive somehow.
The 2nd picture is the 2nd boxwood before styling.
The last picture has a lower branch that I’m debating on removing circled in red. Let me know if you think I should remove it.
Thanks!
