Looks good but I make 2 recommendations. First, repot in the hottest driest time of the year. Second, defoliate when doing massive root work.

I'm not saying I haven't brought trees home on a plane back from Florida but not sure I'm willing to go to jail for digging something up!

I was trying to allow this one to build up so momentum and health before doing any major work but it stopped draining and was looking terrible when all the rest of them looked great. Did an emergency repot over the winter. I wasn't aggressive with the roots, just got it into some better draining medium. Looks like it is going to recover.

Get some acid and minerals and plenty of sun. It will be fine! Bougain is an easy fix for what ails it.

Can’t really tell in the picture. There is rot in the trunk. Still grows, still blooms but the rot isn’t slowing down.
