Bonsai Writing

Brought in a few bonsai to give my students something to focus their narrative writing.
Chinese elm forest (trees from seeds from their campus courtyard), juniper, bougainvillea, and a wormwood.
Also, a mountain suseki and some figures I have hanging around my garden. Kids enjoyed it and I got to clean up my elm forest a bit.

I forget, what grade do you teach? Pretty cool...take a tree to work at work...and add it to the curriculum! Win/win.

Chances are they will not know the difference! Pot them up and take them in trust me. They will be excited to learn something new about their teacher and your collection will get better every year. Do IT!

Well as soon as any of my trees survive long enough to get moved into a pot smaller then car tire, I think I'll do just that.

Stoll a schefflera from my youngest daughter's preschool- well, a leaf anyway- and as soon as it sprouts some roots I'll plant it and put it on my desk. It's only been four months, so shouldn't be too much longer... maybe?
