@abqjoe start with a good pair of shears; ARS is fine, and 8" concave cutter and 8" wire cutters. Brands I have used for years and recommend include Kiku, Masakuni, Kaneshin. Similar experience here. And since I'm in a wet environment I protect them with Corrosion X. Great stuff.
Picked up some nice scissors today Idk what the brand is because I don't read Japanese but they definitely feel like good quality. Plus the lady that owns the shop pulled hers out and said she's been using them for 30 years and has never had to sharpen them. I'll give em a whirl!
These scissors will be used on some pretty awesome tree's that I have coming in from another member next week. Scratch that I'm lying, these tree's are pretty damn epic in my little opinion
