Bonsai Supply Issues! Do it Now

Though I'd love to believe so, I think we're going to be feeling the pain for quite some time. The Federal Reserve owns $5.7 TRILLION dollars in securities, and though they have slowed the pace with which they are buying them, they haven't discussed their plans for unraveling their position. Once they start selling, interest rates are going up... and fast. You can't have artificially low interest rates forever, and this time the correction is going to be a big one.

I'm thinking five years. Perhaps more. Just depends how quickly they decide they are going to start unwinding the clock.

Socialism Bad, unless it’s corporate socialism. 😩

Hey, you can't blame people for selling junk bonds if you have a Federal Reserve Bank that will hoover them up as fast as you can print them. I'm of the opinion that most of what the government has done over the last two years is going to come back to bite us in the assets :) They borrow money from the American public in order to send checks to the American public... who proceeds to spend the $$$ as fast as possible because they don't realize it is their own money. The bill is going to come due.

Borrowing and borrowing and borrowing... and now interest rates are going to soar, and the cost of all that borrowing is going to soar... because it has to. And the people who are really going to get bit are those least able to afford it, because they don't have the ability to shield themselves from the government.

Forsan et haec olim, meminisse iuvabit!

I can’t disagree with anything you said. The real fault of the situation is ignorance. If people did comprehend what takes place financially, it would result in pitchforks and lynchings. In the end, it’s a good old boys club and I ain’t in it. I just get to pay for it along with you.

As my dad used to say "I love paying taxes... because it means I had an income." :)

Here's hoping that you deposited your Covid19 checks in the bank :)
Even better, converted into crypto, took it all back out before it crashed and put it in the bank 😂 Made money, saved every penny of original and profits. I live with the benefit of having gone broke once in my lifetime. I lost everything when I left working in the finance industry. Best decision of my life. Now I’m a plumber that will always be in demand and sleep well with a clean conscious. People are ignorant of their games by design.

For me it is difficult to understand the complexities of the economy, but it is always seems wise to strive to spend less than one earns. Debt should be avoided if at all possible. This is one way the individual can protect themselves to a certain extent. I find it even tougher having any confidence that it can be controlled with any degree of certainty!

Regular gasoline $1.65 per litre/ $8.25 per gallon CAD ( 5 litre gallon not the US gallon 3.8 litre)
Translates to $4.89 USD per US gallon at this point.

I think it may be time to lock in mortgage rates if possible, Interest rates rising, inflation rising!
Off the soap box now!

You are joking right? There is a difference in gallons between USA and Can?
I heard there are multiple types of Miles too..
Next someone tells me a pound is not a pound..

People, go metric, lets use a global standardized measurement system!

How has the cost of Akadama and Kanuma been affected so far? The current price in Vancouver, BC is $50 per bag CAD. So roughly $40 USD.
This being on the west coast with less transportation costs involved than distribution to the east coast.
Is it currently in stock? Or on back order?

On the east coast we are lucky that Art et Culture Bonsai was able to get their hands on a good volume for us! It's still 45CAD per bag here for Kobayashi's stuff:

I think we all know who inflation hurts - people on fixed incomes and people holding cash. Ask yourself the question: "who does inflation help?" Inflation helps debt holders, because at the end of the year their debt is worth less than at the beginning of the year. And who holds the most debt? The US Government.

Hmmm...

Yes. That would be the Social Security trust as the largest holder of intergovernmental debt.

Not sure who needs to hear this. But superfly bonsai has akadama of all sizes in stock and orders over $100 ship free. I got myself one more bag and some lava. I’m pretty well stocked up. Now, I certainly don’t have a nuresries worth of trees to repot, but I have some repotting to do that’s for sure. Between eBay and superfly ive been able source everything needed fairly easy.

I have no idea what they are saying, but as product of the 90’s era hip hop I can say that is dope. I listen to a lot of groups who rap and sing in different languages and it all vibes. Music knows no bounds. I played in a band for years also that played live hip hop/funk/reggae

It's a post apocalyptic song about the world that went to shits, now they dance in the empty squares and sing from atomic bunkers "hooray, the world is going under".
The second vocalist has this raw sound that I can't mimic but would love to be able to.
Bonus points for anyone who knows the name of the plingy instrument. I've been trying to find out for months..
