Important question:

Since I’m in zone 7b, and Vance Wood’s Mugo Guideline/timetable is Michigan’s zone/climate, should I begin work earlier than recommended?

VW recommended pruning back this year’s growth (extended candles) in July. Remove single terminal buds in mid-August. Remove and needles mid-August also.
