Blue Ridge Bonsai Society Exhibition, NC Arboretum, Asheville, NC Sept 7-8, 2024

Didn't plan on it, but looks like I'll be there in the morning.

Just got home from the show and it was a good one. I had not seen most of the trees on display and was truly impressed with the pverall quality. I managed to get away with only a nebari brush and one Rob Wallace pot but JohnG was stocking up on bathtub sized pots—hope he brought a truck to haul all those big boys home! If you’re in the Asheville area the show continues through about 4 PM today and 10AM-4PM tomorrow.

It absolutely was, probably one of the coolest bald cypresses there too. that and the privet looked like a mandrake from harry potter. SUPER interesting stuff.

I was unaware that I missed this event by a week until this very moment. My wife and I went to the arboretum on the 13th.
My disappointment is palpable.

It looks like we may have a decent crowd coming through over the weekend-- a lot of us really miss the old expo days. There will be a pretty large exhibit of advanced trees (some really spectacular ones) as well as an intermediate and beginner displays. I believe their will also be kusamono and suiseki diplays and possibly demos. And of course the amazing NC Arboretum Bonsai Garden will be open. Lastly, myself and Brad with the bonsai learning center will be there. I plan to have a lot of new work, including some big pots-- here are a few new ones both small and large.

Hey Rob, since I got bumped out of the Winter Silhouette Show this year,(and yes, it is a huge disappointment for me) I may take the opportunity to come to this event to see you and all the bonsai and such. I believe all the pots I have purchased from you have plants in them now.

Never mind. As usual, I was confused and was disregardful of dates.

Rob-- no worries, sadly I have to miss the show this year as I will be out of town during it. They are also having a guest artist Chris Baker from the Chicago Botanical Gardens and it should be a great weekend. I think its moving in the direction of bringing back a bigger show again and am super excited about that prospect.
Are there vendor spots available that you know?
I do not know about this for sure-- You would probably want to reach out to the club through the website. I think they are only doing 5 vendors this year but plan to expand in future years.
