All you gotta do is remove everything outside of >, or whatever your windforce's shape. Only branches within that angle are kept, leaves are allowed a bit more leeway.

This winter was so mild, my 2 smallest things, this, and mini-pimpin the shimpaku both got noticably more healthy thru winter.
Probly wouldn't have been so if they were in a garage.
Having not exactly taken the last 2 winters of 17-18 and 18-19 well, and whatever made this go yellow last year, has had me leaving it alone.

A nice new fattie trident from the trunk, indicating the health enough to operate.
The up bud was removed, the large one will be watched and likely removed before fall growth, to keep the low one.
And removed buds to allow leaving this section for a while. The top leaf was left, but the bud removed.
