Edit. not to ignore the OP, yes everyone is correct haha. I used white loose knit cotton and it makes a huge difference. I have my trees in full baking sun (against my will) all day. Maybe shading them next season if I have time to build an extension off my bench

@AZbonsai how can you only be zone 9 and get to 47 degrees?

the zones are more about coldest temps rather then hottest afaik?
