I need to build a bench for my trees in training and was wondering about it's location.

My home faces almost directly east to west with the front of the house facing west.

I have a spot next to my deck that would be a great.location for the bench, but I'm worried there would be too much shade there. Other options would be next to the shed in the back of the yard or in the back corner where the old vegetable boxes are (though about using this area as a grow out spot).

Any advice on placement would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends on the trees you grow. Many trees, like Japanese maples, would love morning sun and afternoon shade so the back of your house (facing east) is good. Some trees (Japanese black pine for instance) will like full sun. If you can create another bench in your back yard that's not shaded by the house, that would be ideal for those.

Appreciate the info. Is the separation deeper than deciduous vs conifers or is that a pretty standard guideline?
