Ok so I've got a prunus lusitanica that I quite like (fast grower, I know it's quite invasive in the US), but a piece of bark came loose, unfortunately. I don't know what to with it, as in, I don't know if it's still 'viable' as a bonsai.
I don't have much experience with the species and am curious what more experienced folks would do with it. Should I plant it as a garden tree or does it still has the potential to become an acceptable bonsai?
