Autumn colours

A very hot and dry summer here in the Loire valley.

A few potted maples that survived.
Different colours : when they were repotted, amount of soil mix, sun exposure, etc. :



The one I prefer :

My bonsai turn colors now, but my yard trees don’t turn until mid November and December.
The first one is a Red Maple and the other two are Silver Maples.

I love the red maple colors around us. The one you gave me is still completely green but im keeping an eye on it. I do have this group of red maplea making some lovely color

Acer discolor.
I havre three, and they're the best pink colours in autumn. Still waiting to work one as bonsai :



Last leaves of Acer elegantulum, gorgeous colours in autumn, but the leaves are so large that making a bonsai is a complete no-no :



The kind of maple you would think is a great candidate for bonsai, 'Hagoromo nana' (on the left, 'Butterfly').
Not sure it would be that easy for either of them...

It was a cutting made over 20 years ago, the size of a toothpick.
The oldest photo I have is from August 2003 and I think it was at least 5 years old :
