This is a tree I airlayered from a tree that I bought from a bonsai market in Sydney five or so years ago . A couple of years ago a large dog climbed up onto one of my benches and ran amuck . I call that the ‘dog episode’ . Some trees were unsalvageable , this tree had most of the branches broken . the first branch (which I had ummd and ahhed about keeping ) was snapped clean off . After losing the branch I really missed it . Luckily a bud popped at the spot . So I’ve been regrowing the branch . At the moment it’s about a metre long ( 3 and a bit feet ) it still has to thicken more .
So this tree would be probably over 7 years old . I would like some flowers , fruit . I know it can take over 10 years for an Apple to produce from seed . Does anyone have any tips on how to flower ? I have been heavily dosing with phosphorus and I avoid pruning from mid summer on .
Some photos .
