My thought on your question is likely not, however the only way to check for sure is to ask the processor in Japan what brand of akadama is being used.
I read/chatted through the grapevine during the COVID shutdown many of the media suppliers in Japan went bankrupt and there was a consolidation which resulted in only a 1-2 processors/overseas suppliers of hard akadama for bonsai use.
