Anyone know if this is dying? If so can it be saved?

Its a Chinese Juniper purchased today

the photo below is what makes me think its dying re the browning stem. But the photo below that makes me think its fine and that it's just how the tree ages. Ive never had a juniper. I bought it because i initially thought it was just pins dying off naturally. So thats why i posted...

Looks like a juvenile blue point to me, looks healthy, brown is the growth maturing

Brilliant. Thanks @sfi I thought it may have been the natural shedding of needles. The color change in the bark being a natural occurance too. I was just a bit worried as have never had one. Cheers

Wouldn't it be great if people did some independent research before purchase or asking questions with obvious answers?

It seems natural shedding, pretty normal for junipers. Keep up with Good light, water, and soil. It should be fine then.

I think the point here is that there are members on here that have spent an enormous amount of time in this art, and they are on here at there own free will and don't get compensated. That does not mean fear asking questions, just be ready for a little snark if you can do more homework on your side. This site is valuable, but you are expected to put in effort to research as well. That being said, your little tree is a good starter plant. Ask questions, take a little heat for questions that are rudimentary, and have fun. If you take the fun out of it with arguments, then what are we doing?

I'm new at this and make rookie moves all the time, but I eat it and continue. This new Hobbie has bit me and taken over a good part of my daily activities, in a good way, and i hope it does the same for you.
