Hi, I bought a very small hinoki cypress nana ( 10 cm ) and I would like to know if there are any tips on growing them as in any particular disease I should be wary off or how wet they like to stay?
Thx.

They like water, unlike the other conifers.
They don't sprout on old wood, so keep the foliage tight from the beginning.
Good luck, they make beautiful bonsai!
Watch for fungus infections and do preventative spraying for that. Once they get fungus, the tips start to go brown and then the whole branch/tree will follow if you don't stay right on top of it. They are beautiful trees for sure.
I second the fungal issues, sun and moving air are your friends here. Don't get rid of green quickly, doesn't backbud at all that I've seen. My first tree was one, one of my favorites now, but it was not easy for me - good luck!
