Any ideas what this tree is

I thought maybe olive but not sure anybody know. Bought at garden center as starter bonsai!!! Please Help any ideas?

Maybe boxwood or holly...are there small teeth on the leaf margins? Pics are kinda blurry.

If you tear off a leaf does white sap emerge from the wound?

No teeth I thought it was a boxwood also but I have not seen any boxwood look like that. The leaves are smooth and have almost a purple overtone on the leaves. No sap. Also I thought boxwood leaves had almost a waxy feel to the leaves these do not and has a very green smell to the tree. Location near East South Central PA

No teeth eliminates holly, no sap eliminate ficus (some willow leafs can have similar foliage.

There are boxwoods that will have a more elongated leaf like what you have, rather than that typical rounded appearance. An example of one variety that does this is Justin Brouwers. English boxwoods will take on that leaf morphology.

Thank you!!! I thought maybe it was an olive I saw a few pics of some that looked like that but I think now you might be right a boxwood. I could wait and see if I get any blooms and see what comes up too!!! Many thanks!!!

If it is cold hardy evergreen, looks like Ilex Glabra without my glasses on.

Even with my glasses on those original pics are way too blurry to make out any useful detail for ID.
Need decent photos to get an accurate ID, otherwise only guesses.

Pics are definitely blurry but judging by the leaf shape and the root growth, it's a ficus retusa.

Doesn't one type of Chinese Serrisa have leaves like that?

3rd and 4th pic have a shoot sticking out that look like it...

The bark/ trunk is too smooth for serissa. The trunk looks almost like a ficus.

I propose you to do a simple test. Take a scissor and cut a leaf by the petiole.
If latex appears in the cut it is a ficus.
In my opinion it can be a ficus nerifolia.
If there is no latex, as friend Forsoothe! says it can be an Eugenia myrtifolia

Those are better pictures?? Did you check any before posting?? Only the far shots are almost clear. The others are a complete waste of time.

At least I can now see that leaves are OPPOSITE so definitely not any sort of ficus. No need to look for latex.
