Affordable shears and scissors

They are affordable because they are from Japan not made in Japan.
Gotta be careful. I wouldn't waste my money.

I would like some clarification on that. Mitsutomo is not a Japanese brand? A Chinese brand? On a side note, am I to assume that everything made in Japan is superior than anywhere else? Is it not possible that there are some Japanese tool makers that also produce junk for profit? I'm just curious that's all.

PLEASE remember: You get what you pay for. Cheap = cheap.

Brand doesn't say where it is from. Henckels for example...a Solingen, Germany knife maker but they have some Chinese made now. Sony, Toyota, Honda, etc....they can be made anywhere.

Japan makes lots of good quality products but yes, they do produce some junk too...but much less. :)

For just trimming shoots and leaves, I use these micro tip pruners. Super sharp, comfortable, never have to worry about rust.

I found a pair of these at Walmart in the end of season discount section. I loved them so much I bought 4 more when I saw them the next year at Home depot. They are awesome shears for small jobs.

I find the traditional metal scissors nice to look at but uncomfortable to hold. I only use Japanese tools for knob and concave cutting. They are awkward to hold, but I have yet to find modern replacement for them.

Me too, fiskar makes great stuff, try their large loppers if you need to do some loppering. Scissors too, great scissors for cutting landscape cloth etc.

Mistutomo may be a Japanese company but the tools are not made in Japan. I find them advertising from Japan a little deceptive . No not everything from China is junk or from Japan the best but you can be sure if they aren't advertising in a honest manner then the tools are probably cheap.
