Good to hear from you dude!

Any updates on this?
I know where one grows nearby, and hoping to get some cuttings and seeds this year.

I have had good luck propagating from seeds. Every year in Bend, OR is not a good seed year but when it is there are high levels of germination. I grow mine in the ground for 5-10 years before potting. They tend to develop a deep main root so root pruning is important with ground-growing. The tend to bud much later than all my other maples. The have great fall color.

Thanks!
I imagine the late budding has to do with its native climate. The frost safe date in those regions isn't until May, so it evolved a later budding time.

How's your winter dormancy work around there? It doesn't get as cold as here, and warms up earlier in the year? Won't be a problem for me, but I'm curious.
